WALTER "SUNDANCE" FREEMAN

 

Walter “Sundance” Freeman (USA) is self-styled performer whose interest in tap began at the age of 14. He studied with such masters as Bunny Briggs and Lon Chaney. Some of many productions he has appeared in, as dancer, singer, and actor, include Hot Chocolate, A Night at the Apollo, and as principal – dancer in the Tony Award winning show Black and Blue. During his professional career to date, Walter Freeman has performed with such notabilities as Dizzy Gillespie, the Nicholas brothers, Whoopi Goldberg and Jeffrey Osborne. In addition to performing, Walter is involved in teaching tap and technique workshops. At present he is touring the world with the international company of “Riverdance” (“The Liffey”), dancing in the solo number of African-American Tap Dancers (not Irish dancing).
